Description

The 18 hole Championship Course at Forest Hill Golf Club occupies an undulating, semi-wooded landscape (forming part of The National Forest) that provides a mature setting for golf. It's a beautiful parkland course, nestled on the edge of the National Forest. The course opened for play in 1991, but was extended to its current layout during 2006. The course now extends to 6,491 yards (par 72) from the white tees, arranged in two loops of 9 holes, with the 1st tee, 9th and 18th greens starting & finishing at the Clubhouse. Water, in the form of both streams & lakes, comes into play on 12 of the 18 holes. April 2009 saw the introduction of Championship (Blue) Tees on 5 of the holes. The Blue Course is a far more challenging course, even for the best of players, and it is reserved for Tournaments.

The Clubhouse at Forest Hill Golf Club is located on the western boundary of the property, with fine views across the golf course and down the 9th and 18th fairways. It was purpose-built and erected in 1996. The interior of the Clubhouse provides a welcoming atmosphere for all. The club has an established non-golf food and beverage trade, including a Sunday Carvery: non-golfing guests are very welcome to use the clubs facilities. A terrace behind the Clubhouse overlooks the 9th & 18th greens and is very popular with members and visiting golfers during the summer months. One the course itself, the Halfway House & Terrace was opened in the spring of 2009 to serve refreshments & snacks during busy periods: it's a little haven for a well-earned rest.

The 9 hole Par 3 course at Forest Hill Golf Club is ideal for more experienced golfers wishing to hone their skills, whilst complete beginners can "have a go" to see if they like the game before taking up a lesson or two.

Forest Hill Golf Club also boasts a 26-bay floodlit driving range, open 7 days a week from 9 am to 9.30 pm. Many of the bays are fitted with the latest power tees, with a range of targets, chipping nets and distance markers.

The car park adjoins the Clubhouse and provides parking for 110 cars.
